Technical Support Engineer 2

Accellion is seeking a Technical Support Engineer based in Singapore to provide customer support and assist with installation services for products deployed as a physical or virtual appliance on-premise or off-premise in a public cloud.

This person will be working in a highly technical environment, performing customer installs, supporting customer inquiries, educating customers on service offerings, and providing web product demonstrations as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for Accellion's worldwide customer base by phone and email. 
  • Investigate and resolve incoming questions and issues in a timely and effective manner. 
  • Work with senior engineers to progress advanced tehcnical issues and escalate when appropriate. 
  • Document all customer contact and activity, including troubleshooting steps and problem resolution, in our CRM system.
  • Create knowledgebase articles and internal documentation. 


  • Hands on experience (3 to 5 years) supporting global enterprise software companies or cloud services.
  • Experience resolving complex product issues, security software products preferred.
  • Skills in Unix/Linux.
  • Troubleshooting experience using system logs and querying databases.
  • Exposure to System Administration in LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, Nginx, MySQL, Perl/Python/PHP).
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments: Directories (LDAP, Active Directory), single sign-on, Windows SharePoint.
  • Exposure to networking, firewalls, routing issues, WAN, VPN, Proxy, and DNS.
  • Understanding of protocols DNS, SMTP, SFTP, HTTPS, SNMP, SSL, SSH etc.
  • Experience with Windows desktop and server environments, Mac desktop, networking, security, virtual platforms, mobile devices, and web applications. 
  • Strong Customer service skills with high level of professionalism and ability to work in complex situations.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and manage priorities effectively and work well as a part of a globally distributed team.
  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
